The Millennial Kingdom will be populated by three “categories” or “types” of people

[This article was taken from chapter 4 of our book The Christian’s Hope: The Anchor of the Soul]

The Millennial Kingdom will be populated by three “categories” or “types” of people

A) Christians raptured into the air at the close of the Church Age who then return to earth with Christ during his Second Coming to fight the Battle of Armageddon. They will remain on earth and enter the Millennial Kingdom. Each Christian will have a glorious new body fashioned after Jesus’ resurrected body (Phil. 3:21).

B) Believers (both Jew and Gentile) who died before the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2) and believers who will die during the Tribulation. These believers will be resurrected and transformed into immortals during the First Resurrection, which occurs after the Battle of Armageddon (Ezek. 37:12–14; Rev. 20:4–6). This category includes believers such as Abraham and Sarah, Moses and Miriam, Joshua, Ruth, Samuel, David, Esther, Daniel, and those murdered during the Tribulation for their refusal to worship the Beast (Rev. 13:15).

C) “Natural” or mortal believers who survive the Tribulation and the Battle of Armageddon and are judged “righteous” (Matt. 25:31–46). This category will include both Jews and Gentiles. The term “natural” is used to provide a distinction between these people, who are mortals, and the people who are no longer “natural” but immortal, namely, those in categories “a” and “b”. These “natural” people will experience the same life cycle of all mortals. They will grow, mature, marry, procreate, age, and die (Isa. 65:20–25).

The Bible makes it clear that there will be survivors after the Tribulation and the Battle of Armageddon, and some of them will be judged righteous and allowed to enter Christ’s Kingdom. This point must be understood because some Christians teach that after the Battle of Armageddon no one will be alive on earth. This is clearly not the case. Yes, the majority of the people of earth will be dead, but as Isaiah 13:12 and 24:6 say, there will be survivors, “very few,” but there will be survivors. There are more than six billion people on earth at this time, so “very few” could easily mean a few million or more. Matthew 25:31–46 implies that there will be a significant number because the “nations” will be brought before Christ at the start of his 1,000-year reign.

Because there will be no war and plenty of food, these survivors will multiply rapidly and will repopulate the earth. In fact, they will multiply to such a degree that by the end of the 1,000 years they will be as numerous “as the sand on the seashore” (Rev. 20:8). This growth in population should not be surprising. In the Old Testament, Israel entered Egypt as a group of seventy people (Gen. 46:27). When they came out they numbered about three million. This significant increase in population occurred under horrible conditions. If a few million are present at the beginning of the Millennial Kingdom, imagine the growth potential when the prevailing conditions are peace and prosperity!

As mentioned earlier, it will be the “natural” people who will make up the nations. Because they will still be “natural,” they will be subject to the weaknesses of a mortal body, and will still be prone to sin. Therefore, even though they are living in Paradise, they will need to be ruled “with an iron scepter.” Christ will not be cruel or mean, but he will “rule with an iron scepter” by enforcing the laws so that there is no crime, and people can live in safety and security. In the King James Version, these words are translated as the familiar phrase, “rod of iron.” The phrase “iron scepter,” or “rod of iron,” occurs in four verses: Psalms 2:9; Revelation 2:27; 12:5; 19:15. The application of the iron scepter can be seen in the following verses: Isaiah 11:4; 14:2; 49:22 and 23; 60:10–14; 61:5 and 6; 66:12; Micah 7:14–17; and Zechariah 14:16–19.

Prophecies of Christ ruling with an iron scepter are strong evidence that there will be a Millennial Kingdom populated at least in part by unsaved, mortal people. In addition, it should be obvious that these prophecies must apply to the future because they were not fulfilled during Christ’s first coming. In spite of the many clear verses on this subject, there are some people who do not believe that the 1,000-year reign of Christ on earth is literal, and others who do not believe the Kingdom is coming in the future. [1] If either of these beliefs were correct, then the only people available for Christ to rule with an iron scepter would be the saved believers in the Everlasting Kingdom. Being ruled with an iron scepter is not the way most Christians envision everlasting life. Thankfully, that is not how the Bible portrays it either. It is the unregenerate, “natural” people alive during the Millennial Kingdom who will need to be ruled with an iron scepter. [2]

The need for the iron scepter is due to the fact that these “natural people” still have a sin nature that causes them to be selfish and sinful. Although they will live in Paradise, surrounded by bounty, many of them will still find reasons to complain. That is not unusual. Both history and the Bible teach that there are many times when people who should be happy because they are healthy, well fed, and financially secure are still unhappy and find reasons to complain constantly. The presence of these “natural” people in the Millennial Kingdom explains in large part why there will be disputes in the Millennial Kingdom (Isa. 2:4; Micah 4:3). The book of Zechariah says that if any nation selfishly decides not to go and worship in Jerusalem, then that nation will have no rain (Zech. 14:17). This is an example of the natural selfishness and “can’t be bothered” attitude prevalent among “natural” people. It is also an example of how Christ will wield the iron scepter. At the end of the 1,000-year period Satan is loosed, and he will deceive many of these “natural” people and incite them to rebel against God and His people. Their rebellion will fail when they are destroyed by fire from heaven (Rev. 20:7–9).

The presence of these natural people in the Millennial Kingdom also helps explain why there will be priests (Ezek. 42:13 and 14; 44:15–31; Rev. 5:10). A priest, by definition, is someone who intercedes or mediates between God and another person. Aaron was a priest because he stood between God and Israel. If everyone in the Millennial Kingdom has a new, everlasting, regenerated body and an intimate relationship with God, there would be no need for priests. Since there will be many “natural” people in the Millennial Kingdom, priests will be important.

Some Christians do not believe there will be two literal and distinct kingdoms in the future because, to them, it does not seem possible to have “natural” people (mortals), and immortals alive on the earth at the same time. So they take verses like those cited above and “spiritualize” them by saying they are figurative and not literal. There is no justification for handling these verses in that manner. They are written very clearly and do not have any of the aspects of figurative language. Just because something God says about the future is hard to believe or hard to understand does not mean it is not literal and true.

[1] Some people erroneously believe that the 1,000 year reign of Christ on earth is happening now in a “spiritual sense.” Robert Clouse, ed., The Meaning of the Millennium (InterVarsity Press, Downers Grove, IL, 1977), pp. 155–87.
[2]The fact that Satan, when he is loosed at the end of the Millennium, is able to corral an army of disgruntled rebels is evidence enough that unregenerate mankind will be a part of the Millennial Kingdom.

  1. Still a little confused. If there are “natural believers” still on Earth after Armageddon, then why weren’t they “raptured” earlier, to join Group A? That almost implies there are two types of Christians; those who are raptured and those not.
Similarly, these people are said to still be mortal, so they will die during the Millennial Kingdom period. Thus, what is their spiritual future?

    1. Hi Chris, there will be some who are alive after Armageddon but who had not followed the Antichrist, but also had not accepted Jesus. This is why they were not raptured. They are mortal and when they are judged they (as weighed) they are not considered evil either. Although this is a very small minority, we have to recognize that people like them will be allowed to enter the Millennial kingdom, which is where the “mortals” will come from. They will reproduce and so there will be two types of people in the Millennial Kingdom, mortals and immortals (us).

      1. The battle of Armageddon doesnt take place till after the millennial kingdom. Rev 20:7-10 so Im not sure of this particular discussion as based on scripture .

  2. I have a question about the unrepentant people who survive the tribulation. If they are not allowed to enter the millennial kingdom, where would they go?

    1. The ungodly who survive the Tribulation are separated from the “sheep” and the sheep and goat judgment. They are tossed into the Lake of Fire where they will be consumed along with the false prophet and the Antichrist.

      1. Hi Dan could these mortals be saved in the millennial kingdom?

        1. Hi Marius, “Saved,” or the idea of salvation may look differently for them. I guess that some of the mortals who enter as righteous will be saved, but we also know that they will have offspring, theses are the ones who will repopulate the earth, and at the end of the 1,000 years it is some of the offspring who are led astray by Satan (when he is released from the 1,000 years in chains). So I guess some, the righteous, will be saved and others (the wicked) will not be.

      2. Cool stuff Dan. And I did print this article to peruse again and again but with all due respect, Revelation 20:10 says
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Even with your particular ” soul death” belief system, how can you in good faith promote “consumption of satan and others?

  3. Question … During the 1000 year MK … If a wicked person dies, his soul will probably go to Hell and await the Great White Throne Judgment. However, I am confused regarding someone who dies during the MK and has also accepted Christ as their Savior. Where will their soul go until the Judgment Seat of Christ Judgment? To me, there seems to be some sort of transformation that needs to happen before they are able to spend eternity with Christ.

    1. I think part of your confusion is regarding the concept of soul. The idea that soul is something that exists independently from the body was a result of Greek philosophy and it is not biblical. Here is slink to a video we have that explains this:

      1. How do you explain Ecclesiastes 12:7 sir?

    2. This is a very good question and one that I myself have yet to find a confirmation to. There is not a theologian yet, who has been able to answer this question, as you have thus stated. And the question is this: Where will those people who were born during the 1000 years be judged, (the ones who DID accept Jesus and were saved)? It’s obvious that the ones who did NOT accept Jesus will appear at the Great White Throne, but what about the one who did accept? Everyone must appear at some judgment and the GWT is the only one left to appear at. Will the believers of the Millennial reign of Christ not also be judged at the Great White Throne Judgment? Because the Judgment Seat of Christ will have and has already happened in the past before the Millennial reign ever began.

      1. Hello Curt, Rev. 20:15 says whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. This means that there ARE some that were found written. And these people are those who lived and died during the Millennium who lived righteously with Christ. They will be resurrected with “the rest of the dead” who never got saved, but won’t be cast into the lake of fire as their names will be found written in the book of life.

  4. Hey Dan,
Great article and question answering! Would love to see you guys sometime as we’re not that far apart now.

    1. Hi Leah and thanks for the input. We would love to see you too. You can email me at [email protected] Where do you live? Dan

  5. this article is right down the line!

  6. So, christians who are raptured up just prior to the seven year tribulation will never be able to marry? Are they male and female? Cause I remember where Jesus said you error in the scriptures, for there is neither male nor female in heaven.

    1. We know of no verse that quotes Jesus as saying there is no male of female in heaven.

      1. Yes Dan. Jesus told tot he sadducees that in the resurrection they neither marry nor given in marriage but they will be like angels. Mat 22:30

  7. hi Dan, great work. pls the natural people that will not join Satan after the millennia reign. what will be there faith are the going to live in eternity with natural body or they will also be transformed.

  8. OK, one more question I can’t seem to find an answer to. I know that many will rebel against the Lord at the end of the Millennial Kingdom and will be cast into the Lake of Fire, but what about those who don’t rebel? Do they retain their mortal bodies forever, or are they transformed in some way?

I heard a teaching by Jimmy DeYoung in which he said that those who remain at the end of the Millennial Kingdom will continue on as mortals forever, and will continue to procreate. That doesn’t sound right – it reminds me of the Mormon teaching that men can become gods and have their own planet, not to mention, what about any children they had who were rebellious and didn’t accept the Lord’s rule?

Seems like the more I think about it, the more questions there are!

    1. At the end of the Millenial Kingdom all mortals will be judged. Some will go to everlasting life and the rest to everlasting death.

      1. Dan , I heard Perry say the same thing. Can you share a scripture to back this statement?

      2. That is true

  9. During the MK humans procreate to fill the earth. At the end of the MK Satan is released and deceives many on earth. God sends down fire to destroy Satan and those who follow him. The present earth and heavens will be destroyed and new earth and heaven made. What happened to those who did not follow Satan on his 2nd attempt. Are they also destroyed when God sends down fire to destroy them and their souls transformed to a spiritual state and lives with Christ for eternity?

    1. No, they flock to the side of Christ and are rescued before the fire comes down

  10. I have a question about the babies, and children who have died before the age of accountability. Will they be in the MK? It seems every person has to accept Jesus as Savior to live with Him forever. Will that be the time they are given this chance?

    1. We don’t know because God doesn’t tell us, but we sure hope so.

  11. Where will the born again believers (in their immortal bodies) be during the 7 years of tribulation?

    1. There are some who believe the born again believers that are alive will be taken (raptured) along with those who are dead in Christ prior to the final 7 year period. This is based on the assumption that the complete period of the final 7 years is The Great Tribulation, a time of God’s wrath. However, there are others who believe that the rapture will only happen after the Anti-Christ is revealed, which does not happen until well into the final 7 years. One thing that is explicit in scripture is that those that have accepted Christ will not be subject to the time of God’s Wrath (Romans 5:9), and just prior to God pouring out his Wrath, which is also seems to be in the last part of the final 7 years. We must remember that there is no promise that we will not have to endure a period of Satan’s fury and persecution against God’s people, but we are safe from God’s wrath which He releases as a judgment against the ungodly.

      1. Thank you. I just want to be clear. Do you mean that born-again believers, in their resurrected/changed bodies, will live through the tribulation (whether 3.5 or 7 years) on the earth? (But not endure God’s wrath.) My previous question is: Are there any indications in scripture of where the saved will live just after meeting Jesus Christ in the air?

  12. Perhaps, it would be more clear if you break group one into 1) The dead in Christ, and, 2) Those in Christ alive at His return.

  13. Thanks

  14. Does anybody aside from God know if the resurrected people who died in Christ before his second coming will be able to marry or have kids? cause im kinda looking forward to that part of my life and if I die young would really like to still in the next life

    1. Garrett, Great question but no one really knows since God hasn’t said. What I do know is that you won’t be disappointed in any way and you won’t feel as if you’ve missed out no matter what happens.

    2. Those who are resurrected will have glorified bodies and not be able to marry or have children. In your “new” body you will not think the same, or want the same things as you do in your flesh. We will be as the angels Yeshua says, we will neither marry or have children.

    3. I think you’ll have very different “likes” in the new body in the next Kingdom.

  15. Dan…Love the opportunity to dialogue about God’s word (whenever I’m led). I had a radical transformation almost 3 years ago and, have had a hunger for God’s word ever since. Not to mention…always thirsting the Living water as well. Amen! Humbly, I was led to go deeper into the scriptures referring to the Millennium Kingdom based on an article I read concerning abortion in our country…I was shocked to learn we have had 58 billion abortions in this country since the horrific decision was made to pass the bill of Roe V. Wade some 50 years ago. Immediately, my mind went to those unborn souls being instantly established in the Heavenly Kingdom and they will also qualify to instantly receive their Glorified body when raptured! Then, my next thought was about those 58 Billion plus unborn children combined with the many believers who have died that will rise first and, any of us who might be alive during the rapture will also be caught up with them in the air with them and our Lord Jesus…So, here’s where I asked the Lord to reveal in my human mind how to understand…58 billion aborted children combined with, God only knows how many Billion saved souls from Old Testament times to current day believers who have died the physical death and now we add in the millions or, perhaps billions of Mortal believers who will be here after Jesus returns to abolish the wicked in the great tribulation and, the number(s) are staggering …In my human mind…it’s hard to imagine hypothetically…there would have to be a minimum of 100+ billion immortal/mortal humans populating this planet all at once for a 1,000 years…all the while, the population will grow even more due to those mortals who will be like us today (pro-creating). So, my question (s) are…will we have enough room on planet earth for all of us? Or, will our immortal bodies be without form (Angelic), not requiring the needs of the flesh (food, water, shelter, sleep…ect)? I know God’s word is “PURE” truth so, if we logically approach this equation from a human perspective…it seems feasibly impossible a 100 plus billion beings with physical form could live in harmony without being over-crowded and exhausting our resources? Of course, we know Gods word tells us in Isaiah 55:8-9, His thoughts and ways are above ours! I even thought about the scriptures from the sermon on the mount…particularly Matthew 7:13-14 & Matthew 7:21-23…even if very few find the Narrow Gate or, never knew Jesus intimately and are turned away…that still would leave those 58 billion babies…plus the numerous amount of children who never reached the age of accountability and all the believers from the days of Genesis…which means the number of beings (immortal/mortal), should still be over 100+ billion (one would think?). No matter if I find the answer to these questions or, not…My faith is in Jesus for He saved a wretch like me. I look forward to your response and, I will always fall back on Isaiah 55:8-9 and, be at peace with His thoughts and ways being higher than ours! Amen

  16. I understand that Christians will receive their rewards or crowns at the judgment seat of Christ when we immediately get to heaven after the rapture takes place. But when does the people that did not make the rapture but are saved during the tribulation period receive their rewards or crowns? The Bible says we will all stand before the Lord and be judged for our works. Thank you kindly for your response.

    1. They are rewarded before they enter the Millennial Kingdom.

  17. This is one of the best commentaries I have read on the millenium.

  18. What happens to mortal believers who die during the Millennial Kingdom? I know they are not resurrected again until the Great White Throne Judgement but can we assume they go to heaven while Christ is on Earth or do they go to a place similar to Abraham’s Bosom? or can we just not say since the Bible is silent on the issue?

    1. When they die they cease to exist, just as everyone who dies now does. Please check out our teachings on the State of the Dead.

      1. The bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, we don t cease to exist.

        1. Karen, I agree. Which makes me now rethink some of Dans teachings and comments.

    2. Mortal believers won’t die during the Millennial Kingdom, the only death that happens during the 1000 year reign of Christ is sinner not accept Christ according to Isaiah 65:17-20.

  19. Hey Dan,
Hats off to anyone whose talking about this stuff. I’m not at all confused about the state of the mortals who die in the MK. My assumption was always that they are resurrected at the New heavens and New Earth?

    1. Hi Gary, If I understand you correctly, you are asking if the mortals who die in the MK will be resurrected and part of the Eternal kingdom (New Heaven and New earth). I believe they will be raised in the final resurrection, then judged at the great white throne judgement, and the sheep will enter and the goats won’t.

      1. With Jesus with us, who would want to sin, We have God with us,,,only a mentally ill person would reject Jesus when he is here with us.

        1. And yet sadly some will when Satan is loosed from the pit (abyss) after being in prison for 1,000 years. These are the ones he mobilizes to fight on his side as he martial his forces against the King of Kings at eh end of time. Fortunately he loses and is destroyed once and forever.

  20. Wow, awesome weblog structure! How lengthy have you ever been running a
blog for? you made running a blog glance easy. The whole look of your website is fantastic,
    as smartly as the content!

  21. When I read the bible I see in ezekiel that Israel gets ressurected at one time . They get ressurected in flesh bodies as ezekiel describes. He sees flesh and sinew form on the bones. So much tradition of man it is really discuraging to me .

  22. If the Great White Throne judgment is the (last judgment), then wouldn’t it make sense that those who would appear there, would not only be “all the unbelievers throughout the past ages” but also everyone who lived during the Millennial Kingdom on earth as well? (Hebrews 9:27) And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.

    1. I agree. The GWT judgment is for all who have not been judged previously.

  23. I remember reading The Left Behind series. In one of those books, I remember reading that during the thousand year reign, the people that are left, who have’nt accepted Christ, only have till the age of one hundred to make their decision. I’m sure I read some where in the Bible something about one hundred years. I would like to know what you think.

    1. Debbie, you know The Left Behind series is fiction, and the Bible never says that.

    2. IT is a promise that in the MK mortals will enjoy long lives, i.e. anyone who dies at 100 years w”will be considered a mere youth.” Children will not die in infancy like they do now from disease etc. since sickness will not happen there.

      1. It will not be surprising! they can live for 999 years also (Less than a day for God). Our forefathers live more than 900 years at the beginning, Methuselah lived for 969 years! This millennial age will also be like Edenic age.

    3. The scripture you’re looking for is Isaiah 65:20
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

  24. Thank you for your article. The clarity you bring on this subject is so amazing and encouraging. I have another question. At the end of the MK, how will the living “sheep” be transformed into their spiritual bodies? I assume it will be similar to how the bodies of the living Christians will be transformed at the gathering together. Will it be the same way or are there any indications in God’s Word that would lead us to believe it will be different?

    1. WE don’t know how God exactly will do it but we trust He will. That’s good enough for us.

  25. Hello. Just wanted to ask this one. Yes we agreed that there will be persons who will endured the tribulation and shall be saved as in (Mat. 24:13). Before the Millenial Kingdom 1st resurrection will happen to those who died a long time ago with the uncorruptible body. My question is, when will be the changing of the body to those who endured the tribulation and being saved, specially whose living during Millenial Kingdom?

    1. WE can’t answer because God has not told anyone the specifics of when those who endure through the Millennial Kingdom receive a new body. We can only speculate that it is at the end of the MK and before the final Eternal Kingdom.

    2. Hi Babor, you asked dual questions. 1. The changing of body to those who endured the tribulation and saved 2. Who saved in the millennial Kingdom?

Answer: There is a clear answer for Question 1 in Rev 20:4 they will resurrect and reign with Christ in the millennium. Dan Given the answer for the 2nd.

  26. Will born again believers have freewill during the millennium and everlasting life?

    1. Yes, you will still be you, free to choose, except you will no longer have the “sin nature,” the desire to sin that corrupted us as a result of Dam’s disobedience.

  27. Dan, I have a few questions that I would love to hear your thoughts about.

First, who will live during the MK. My confusion is regarding those who die(d) between the day after the Day of Pentecost and the moment preceding Jesus’ return for His church. 1 Thessolonians 4:16 tells us that the dead in Christ shall rise first. Does that mean that ALL who have died true Christians and those that have died without attaining the age of accountability (including aborted children) will return to live with Christ during His thousand year reign on Earth?

Second, as the above verse tells us that “The dead in Christ will be the first to rise,” does that mean that those who have already died are in a state of slumber right now, not in Heaven with Jesus? I have believed for many years that when we die, we are in a slumber awaiting The “rapture” to be called up. I also do not doubt near death experiences. Of course, these two things negate each other. I have my own thoughts on how this is possible, but would love to hear your view.

Lastly, what are your thoughts on pets that have died? I know to many this is an unimportant question, but my pets are like my children. When they die, I am devastated and have only been able to ease the pain by telling myself I will see them again. I have read verses in the bible speaking about animals, even though it does not mention pets directly. What are your thoughts please?

Thank you for this site and sharing your studies of the bible with us.

    1. Hi Krystie,

I believe you are correct in your understanding of “the dead in Christ,” as those who have accepted Christ, and the innocents, between the Day of Pentecost and the rapture. In addition to them, the saints that are alive will also be changed and raptured after the dead. Although, I do recognize that there are some who believe the phrase “dead in Christ” also includes OT believers since the term “in Christ” generally means in relationship with.” Time will only tell for sure on that point.

People commonly think that when the Bible says that those who died are ‘asleep” that it literally means they are sleeping somewhere. Sleep is a metaphor, a figure of speech, and they are not literally asleep, but actually dead. They cease to exist except in the mind of God. There is no such thing as a “soul,” the life force of mankind that exists outside of the body. I don’t doubt “NDE’s” either, but they could very well be visions, dreams, and other phenomena that God is doing for a person. The Hebrew is clear, when we die we are in the dirt, dead.

The bible doesn’t say anything about pets. But I sure hope I get to be with mine in paradise.

      1. To be absent from the body is to present before the Lord. Also, Abrahams Bosom for the Old Testament saints after Jesus reserection.

  28. Amazing! Powerful information. I did translated into Spanish to be able to talk about it to my church friends who don’t speak English. Thanks!!

I have a family member who insists that any dead human who never heard the gospel, will come back during the thousand year reign for a second chance to accept Christ.. For instance, jungle tribes. He says that even those who did have a chance to hear the gospel and rejected Christ and died, will have a second chance by returning at the 1000 yr reign and we Glorified believers will minister to them and others. I challenged his claim and want to know more about this. Please share scripture if you have any that I can share with him. I can understand those who never heard the gospel given a second chance, but those who heard and had their chance? He said Hitler, rapists, etc., will even be given a second chance. Again, help with scripture,,,,I don’t know where he is getting this from. Thanks.

    1. This verse from Hebrews seems pretty clear. We get one life and there are no reruns. We live once, then face judgment.

“Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, (Heb 9:27 NIV) There is no scriptural basis for your family members belief.

    2. Dear Linda,

Dan is exactly correct. There will never be a second choice!
There are 4 references for resurrections in the new Testament
      1. When Jesus Resurrected – Mat 27:52,53 – This is for Old Testament saints
      2. I Tim 4:16 – New Testament saints at Jesus’ secret coming(Rapture)
      3. Rev. 20: 4 Saints of the Tribulation period after rapture
      4. Rev. 20,5 & 11 – Resurrection of all mankind other than the saints for White throne Judgement

  30. Dan, regarding your reply to Krystie as to ‘sleep’ of the dead?
When Jesus said to the thief on the cross that ‘today’ you will be with me in paradise, did Jesus mean literally right at the time of the thiefs death, or at a later time?

    1. It is our belief that Jesus’ use of the word “today” was a way of adding emphasis to his wording and not an indication that the thief would be in Paradise that particular day. Paradise is a future event, a reference to the Millenial Kingdom when the earth is restore to edenic paradise conditions. Further, even on that very day he could not be in paradise with Jesus since Jesus was dead in the grave for three days.

  31. Few Questions I have. 1. What happens to someone who dies now whether they are saved or not? 2. What happens to someone who dies during the millennium reign? Where do they wait?

  32. Hello Dan, I am studying the bible with Jehovah Witness, they teach we all have a second chance except those that God judges to be wicked. I am still learning what are your views on this, since I have many family members who are atheist, Buddhist and have other beliefs but are in general good people. I like to believe in a loving God who will send his son to teach us the whole truth without the corrupted religions of today. I want to believe Jesus will be the only perfect teacher, and hope we all will have a second chance during the Millenial Kingdom:
I wanted to know what are your views on this?

    1. There is no scripture that I know of that says people are given a “second chance.” Absent any explicit teaching like that, people are only speculating. To the contrary, God does say that people die once, then face judgment. Hey 9:27 NIV “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, ” God does not say, we die once, get another chance, then face judgment.

  33. The three categories doesn’t seem to include Christians in the “B” section that die after Pentecost? “B” includes tribulation saints, but what about those who died before the rapture and tribulation, which seems that would be the greatest number of Christians? If when we die, ” abscent from the body present with the Lord, won’t we be included as priests etc during the millennial reign? I asked the people at ””, and the directed me to two articles of theirs that didn’t answer my question. This was my question——-

Why won’t I sin in new heaven and new earth? Even thoughts? If Adam and Eve fell in the beginning why won’t we? Is it because we understand what sin did to mankind first time around? Even though we have our new nature, Adam and Eve did to, and the walked with God, And during the thousand year reign of Christ, pre tribe Christians don’t have kids, aren’t married and live in the new Jerusalem right? And those saved during the tribulation will live outside in the world? And have kids? Well, When the thousand year reign of Christ is over, and Satan is released for a short time, many people, more than can be counted join him and rebel against God. It seems logical that those people if they didn’t send physically during the thousand years they were to send in their head and not for example have been like to be told what to do, otherwise why would they just decide at the last minute oh I’m gonna fight was Satan even though I know Jesus is really God? They would’ve had to send in their head which means send that happened during the thousand years. But I get the impression from revelation that there is no sin during the thousand year reign of Christ I hope you can answer these questions respectfully in Christ Jim and Green

    1. Hi Jim, The first category listed includes all Christians, both those who have died since Pentecost and those who are alive during the rapture. Regrading your question, “Why won’t I sin in the new heaven nd earth? It is not that you can’t sin, but you will no longer have any desire to because you will have a new body and mind that is freed from the “flesh nature, aka the “sin-nature.” Much of our sinning now is the result of the internal pressure to be rebellious and follow the corrupted nature of our flesh. That will be replaced by a perfect body and mind. At the end of the 1,000 years Satan will be let loose one last time and he will lead many into rebellion against the King. These are most likely the “mortals” who do not have the new nature as we do.

  34. When people die it seems the Bible says we go be with the Lord if we have been saved. We are not just dead, but still existing with a body not made with hands.
Also, the Bible tells us about Moses and Elijah appearing for Peter, James and John saw them.

So how do you say people are dead and only exist in the mind of God?

  35. It is clear that there is a rebellion at the end of the thousand year reign. How is it that Christ comes to restore all thing but doesn’t really restore all things,? How can it be that there is a third group which was neutral even during the mark of the beast challenge and not saved to eternal life but simply spared? It is at least mind boggling for there isn’t enough detail given with respect to this third group and how they enter, being neither sheep nor goats, neither wheat nor tears. Does this tie in with the second chance teaching?

    1. Hi Rafael, thanks. Those are good observations and it can be confusing. It is my understanding that some mortals will enter Christs 1,000 year kingdom and, as mortals, they will have the ability to procreate. At the end of the 1,000 years Satan is released from prison and he leads people into rebellion against Christ and the righteous. Who is it that he leads astray? Possibly people from the millions, maybe even billions, of mortal people who have repopulated the earth. THe righteous saints that are ressurected and raptured are not in the mortal class since we have received everlasting life and cannot die again. At the end Satan is destroyed and so are the unrighteous and then the eternal kingdom with the new Jerusalem the Apostle John describes descends and the eternal Kingdom begins. THe one where we dwell with Yahweh and Jesus, wher ehere is no need for sun, etc. since they are the source of light.

  36. Hi ,
Can you please tell me if all that were raptured will be returning and than staying in the Millennial Kingdom? Or will there be some left in heaven and others brought to reign with Jesus ?

    1. Good question. I like to refer to the event as the ressurrection/rapture because in 1 Cor. Paul is clearly talking about the dead in Christ rising as a ressurection (the dead coming to live) and the extra part that was unknown, or at least not written about, was how the living would be changed too. All who go to heaven with Jesus return with him and are a part of the armies of heaven.

  37. Where do the first raptured saints live during the millenium? Do we get to choose if we want to live in our own city or do we have to live somewhere else on earth? I read somewhere we live in heaven during the millen, but we can travel to earth in an instant if Jesus needs us there.

  38. No, that’s one thing I disagree with. The bible teaches we have an eternal spirit and when we die, that spirit goes back to God. 1cor. I believe says, while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord and to be absent from the body and be present with the Lord; also, Jesus told the thief on the cross who defended him, Today you will be with me in paradise. I don’t see where the confusion is concerning the human spirit after death when scripture is filled with the answer. Just saying.

  39. Wow, I was greatly edified by this article and it answered a lot of questions I had often puzzled over concerning the Millennium. This is probably the truest and most Biblical explanation of what the End Times will be like and Christ’s Millennial Kingdom. Thank you for posting this.

  40. I have had opportunity to share this article two (maybe 3) times with people on FB. I sent it privately to one friend who posted it on FB and the response was strong. People responded with a belief that this makes much more sense than the heaven and hell concepts promoted in Christendom today especially when it is pointed out that many of our traditions are firmly based in paganism. I have read and am also recommending The Christian’s Hope. Thank you for providing this information. Lastly, the comments section and your replies have been thought provoking and interesting.

  41. What is the mode of salvation during the MK? How is one saved?

  42. I am confused about the timing of the mk. Will it be after the tribulation Thank you and I enjoyed your answers

  43. i believe the bible tells us the old earth will dissapear and sin will be forgotten

  44. Strongly recommend everyone who has taken an interest in this article to read: The Christian’s Hope: The Anchor of the Soul. I am on my third reading and can truly say it is sobering and enlightening and dispels much of the cloudiness found in Christendom today regarding the future. Seeing it from God’s perspective rather than the traditions of men opens up a whole new spiritual vibrancy for the truth seeker.

  45. Is there a reason Satan will be “let loose” at the end of the Millennium? Is it to give this evil being a second chance at repentance? – or just to test the mortals – yet again?

  46. its a great article

  47. Thank you, it is a great article, easy to understand and follow, strengthens the teaching I have had on Millennial life, a brother in faith told me in addition that the practice of animal sacrifice will be started again in the new temple worship which shook me as a Christian, as I had in my mind that the animals and us raptured Christians will live in peace together and safety, do you have any articles you can point me to for further understanding of why and who will need to perform these?

  48. This is helpful for every true believer of Christ Jesus. The end time is near. He is coming like a thief in the night. We must be prepared always.

  49. Dan, you are saying that when a person dies they cease to exist!!!!!!!!!!! Is that Biblical?????? Show me where.

  50. I like this article very much. The discussion in the comments is also very interesting. I believe that the harvesting of God’s bodies is happening as I write this. The chosen once for the Kingdom are being collected right now 🙂

  51. The universe is a huge place. We Christians are so blessed because we will be like Jesus Christ forever able to travel at the speed of thought. Immortality is the only way the restored Universe will ever began to be populated. God is worthy of all the 10 to the trillionth power of worshippers who will bow down and worship him.

  52. May our Heavenly Father Bless your days and deliver you from those who tremble at his name. And all blessings given to our lord and savior Jesus for by and thru him all things are possible and all those who acknowledge and sincerely believe that by his death all the world is saved. And to walk by faith and not by one`s own eyes. I respect your courage to explain and test the scriptures against him who comes to devour you with half truths of the perfect creation. Be sober and stead fast as we will meet in person in the presence of our glorious lord and king Jesus Christ. All glory to the most high the Alpha And Omega, the King of kings, all glory and thanks forever and ever in Jesus my personal savoir to present my prophecy on your behalf to our heavenly father to manifest his endless love to you and all those you meet in travels. Wonderful that others can see the truth thru the holy spirit. Take care brother.

  53. Thank you for the clarification of the Millennial Kingdom Populace. But will there be salvation for the natural people of the Millennial Kingdom ? If salvation is there, when is their Resurrection? If not Why?

  54. What denomination are you??

  55. It always amazes me how people can get stuck in their way of thinking and close their minds to Bible verses that contradict their view. Case in point is 1 Corinthians 6:9 that states “the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God”. Not sure how you can say unbelievers will survive the tribulation and enter the Millennial Kingdom or even if we are in the Kingdom now? Some people just can’t get past their own bias and approach the scriptures with an open/teachable heart.
