(2467 Reads)

I know people who are teaching that we Christians today are required to observe the feasts and ceremonial holidays that the Jews in the Old Testament observed? Is that true?

Bible study: Is the Day of Pentecost the Birthday [beginning] of the Church?
(10739 Reads)
Certainly the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2 is the only biblical event that meets the criteria as the time when the first people ever were “baptized in holy spirit,” setting the pattern for each person thereafter who makes Jesus Christ his Lord. 1 Corinthians 12:13 confirms that: “For we were all baptized by [in] one Spirit [spirit (the gift)] into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink...

In the books, articles, videos, and audio teachings of Spirit & Truth Fellowship we call the administration in which we live “the Administration of the Sacred Secret,” and we translate the Greek word musterion as “Sacred Secret.” We believe that “Sacred Secret”...

1 Corinthians 2:7-8 The Sacred Secret [Greek musterion]: God's Gift to Us
(2968 Reads)
For ages God kept a Sacred Secret. He did not tell anyone (or even give any hints) about His secret until after the death of His Son, Jesus (1 Cor. 2:9). Now, however, He has revealed it to mankind...

Is the Church the true heir of the covenant since the Jews rejected Jesus as...
(2205 Reads)

The Church is a surprise addition to the prophesied program of salvation promised to Israel, and is both included in the blessings to Israel and given blessings of her own. In regard to Israel and the Church, God treats the situation as “both / and” rather than “either / or,” at least in the long-term sense.

What was the Secret that Paul talked about?
(2981 Reads)
It was prophesied in many places in the Old Testament. The focal point of the “Sacred Secret” is that Gentiles who believe in Christ as “Lord” would be fellow heirs with Israelites who believe. They would be part of the same Body, a new creation, the “one new man” of Ephesians 2:15, and partakers of “the promise in Christ Jesus.”

Are Christians required to uphold the Law? Circumcision, kosher dietary laws...
(2171 Reads)
Are any of these things required for the Church?
Are we better Christians if we continue to practice some or all of these things?
Furthermore, the Church is neither “better off” nor “more sacred” when it adopts practices that God has not prescribed for it. This is important, because mankind seems always to be looking for something that satisfies the flesh and makes us feel like we are doing works that help us stand approved before God.

Did Israel become a state in 1948 to fulfill biblical prophecy?
(3389 Reads)
Is God working behind the scenes by way of the formation of the modern political state of Israel in 1948? And did this happen in fulfillment of biblical prophecy?
Israel has to be a country in order for the biblical prophecies to be fulfilled, so even if the creation of the state of Israel is not the fulfillment of a specific prophecy, it can still be seen as God setting the stage so prophecy can be fulfilled.

Is the hope of Christianity found in a return to Jewish roots [Krister Stendahl]
(2451 Reads)
Christianity is not “gilded Judaism.” The Church is a new community of believers transformed and united into a new spiritual entity called the “one new man” and “a new creation.” To return to our previous metaphor, Judaism is a perfectly designed caterpillar, centered around the Law, which was “powerless…in that it was weakened by the sinful nature” (Rom. 8:3). The Church is like the butterfly that emerged, and is based on the completed work of Christ and the giving of the gift of holy spirit.

Does dispensationalism promote the concept of progressive revelation?
(1798 Reads)
Does dispensationalism promote a view of the “evolution” of doctrine, or the concept of “progressive revelation”?
The concept of progressive revelation gives us a way to deal with what would otherwise be inconsistencies or contradictions in what both Jesus and Paul taught. Indeed, it gives us a way to deal with the development of doctrine throughout Scripture. We also have an opportunity to expand our perspective of “the inspiration of Scripture” into an understanding that better fits the biblical evidence.

Are we currently living in and building the Kingdom of God or is it still future
(1840 Reads)

Well, take a look around at the world. The place is a zoo, and that is unbearably euphemistic. More literally, people are suffering on a scale no human mind can begin to grasp. Paradise is so lost. Then compare the world today with what the Word of God says about the time when Jesus rules the earth, and see if the two line up.
