Do You Have to Believe in the Trinity to be Saved?     (3938 Reads)
The Doctrine of the Trinity According to orthodox Trinitarian doctrine, if a person claims to be a Christian but does not believe in the Trinity, he is not saved. Is that the truth? Not from the evidence in the Bible. In fact, the evidence in Scripture is that a person can be saved without even knowing about the Trinity. Before we discuss the issue further, however, we need to know the definition of the Trinity according to orthodox theologians. This is important because some Christians think they are Trinitarians simply because they believe in the Father, the Son, and a being called “the Holy Spirit.” But that is not the Trinity. The doctrine of the Trinity is that the Father is God, the Son is God, the Holy Spirit is God, and together these “three Persons” make one God; and these three are co-equal and co-eternal, the Son having been “eternally begotten” of the Father, and Jesus being simultaneously 100% God and 100% man.

Holy Spirit [Greek, pneuma hagion]: one of the names of God / gift of God     (1608 Reads)
The Doctrine of the Trinity In every verse of Scripture in which pneuma hagion, holy spirit, is used, it can refer either to (a) one of the names of God, one which emphasizes His power in operation, or (b) the gift of God. Therefore, there is no compelling reason to take the words pneuma hagion as referring to a being known as “the Holy Spirit,” who is part of a...

Reasons people think Holy Spirit [pneuma hagion] is third person of a Trinity     (1306 Reads)
The Doctrine of the Trinity One of the major reasons that holy spirit has not been recognized by Christians to be a gift from God is that personal and masculine pronouns such as “he” or “whom” have been used with pneuma hagion. If we are to be confident that holy spirit is indeed a gift, and not a person, then the question about the pronouns associated with it has to be answered. The pronouns associated with the gift of holy spirit can...

Does the Bible say I have to believe in the Trinity to be saved [born again]?     (4509 Reads)
The Doctrine of the Trinity Salvation is of the utmost importance, so let’s be sure we understand God’s instructions, which are really quite simple. To be saved, you must confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. What does that mean? It means that you say what the Bible clearly declares—that Jesus is the Son of God who died for your sins, was raised from the dead, and highly exalted to the right hand of God. Have you...

What about The Da Vinci Code saying that Jesus is not God - Is that true?     (1971 Reads)
The Doctrine of the Trinity The DaVinci Code purports that the early followers of Jesus viewed him as fully human. Many Church leaders are up in arms about that, saying that New Testament writers saw Jesus as “fully divine, i.e. “God in human flesh.”

The DaVinci Code also suggests that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and fathered a bloodline...

Christianity 101: Two Adams. Study of Romans 5:12-14 Type of one to come     (4512 Reads)
The Doctrine of the Trinity Jesus Christ is the Last Adam, a man like Adam who could undo what Adam did. The Last Adam, by dying on the Cross, sacrificed himself as an offering for the sin that the First Adam introduced into the world. This Adamic parallelism establishes one of the most foundational biblical truths regarding Christ, one that allows us to see the entire span of the Bible: two men, two gardens, two commands, two decisions, two deaths, two universal results, two races of people and two Paradises.

Reasons Why the Holy Spirit Is Not A Person Separate From the Father, God     (3759 Reads)
The Doctrine of the Trinity The doctrine of the Trinity depends upon the reality of a “third person” called “the Holy Spirit” to complete a supposed multi-personal Godhead. Without such a separate person who is “co-eternal” and “co-equal”...

Does the teaching that Jesus is the Son of God, not God Himself, demean him?     (5792 Reads)
The Doctrine of the Trinity We believe that the doctrine that Jesus is God actually diminishes the magnitude of his heroism on our behalf. For God to do what Jesus did? Obviously it wouldn't have been hard for Him. And what would we expect God to do but be true to His nature and inherent perfection?

The Giver [God] and the gift of holy spirit. A look at pneuma hagion holy spirit     (4262 Reads)
The Doctrine of the Trinity God is the ultimate Giver. From the time He created man in His own image (Gen. 1:27) until this very day, God has been giving gifts to mankind. James 1:17 tells us: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father…” Ephesians 1:3 says God has blessed us with “every spiritual blessing” in Christ. We have already seen that because God is holy and God is spirit, He is referred to as “the Holy Spirit.” However, we need to be aware there is another use of holy spirit that does not refer to God, but to the gift of God. God loves us so much that...

Bible study: Hebrews 1:8 Why does the Bible refer to Jesus Christ as God?     (3325 Reads)
The Doctrine of the Trinity Considering the fact that the majority of Christians have been taught that Jesus is God, that is a very good question. “And the answer is…”—Yes, and No. Huh?
