Book Review: Discover Your God-Given Gifts

By Don and Katie Fortune

Discover Your God-Given Gifts [1], by Don and Katie Fortune, is a great tool to help people understand their personal gifts. This book explores the seven gifts listed in Romans 12:6-8, identifying them as the Perceiver, Server, Teacher, Exhorter, Giver, Administrator, and Compassionate person. Each gift’s strengths and weaknesses are described in detail, as are personal inventories and a lot of other practical information.

God wants us to be blessed in life and He also wants the best for the Body of Christ, and both purposes are best served if each Christian knows how he or she fits into the Body. Each of us is a gift to the Body of Christ, because God (and the Lord Jesus Christ) have given us unique ways to serve and minister. Furthermore, when we are doing what God wants us to and has equipped us to do, our life will be more fulfilling and our work more enjoyable. Also, when we are serving in the way God intended us to, we do a much better job than if we are trying to do something God has not equipped us to do.

We highly recommend this book for gaining a foundational understanding of these gifts as well as helping each of us recognize and become comfortable with the unique gift we are to the rest of the Body of Christ.

If you like what we are doing and you would like to help us continue to spread the Gospel all over the globe, please consider sowing into our ministry.
